Two sausage brands on the market have been recalled by the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) due to contamination.
The brands, AIA Wudy and Pavo, which are sold with Agricola Tre Vali sausages, have reportedly been recalled by Italian regulators, according to the authority.
The FDA reported that the sausages contain listeria bacteria in a statement it released.
While the FDA confirmed no reported cases of the presence of the AIA Wudy and Pavo sausages on the market, it urged the public to report any sightings of the products at their offices.
“So far, no AIA Wudy sausages have been found on our market. The FDA directs that anyone in possession of the above-mentioned products should immediately take them to either our Head Office or Regional Offices across the country.” the statement added.
The statement further noted that some Pavo sausages were found in Ho following a market survey, but have since been recalled and disposed of.
“Considering the recall activities ongoing in Europe and other countries, the FDA has also conducted a market surveillance activity and Pavo Frankfurt sausages with an expiry date of November 2022 were found in Ho in the Volta Region. The products have since been detained for safe disposal.”
It assured the public of continuous monitoring to ensure none of the products were on the market.
