The NDC has announced Professor Joshua Alabi as the head of the campaign team of its flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.

Prof. Alabi headed the campaign of Mr. Mahama for the 2020 election, where the former president lost to President Nana Akufo-Addo.

In a statement on Wednesday, signed by the General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the party said, “After extensive consultations and deliberations, the Functional Executive Committee of the NDC, at its meeting held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, constituted the National Campaign Team that will prosecute the party’s 2024 presidential and parliamentary campaigns.”

The team includes Fifi Fiavi Kwetey as National Campaign Coordinator, Prof. Joshua Alabi as Head of the Campaign Team of John Mahama, Alex Segbefia as Head of Campaign of running mate Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyeman, and Joyce Bawa Mogtari as spokesperson of John Mahama’s campaign.

It also features former executives of the party such as Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, Kofi Totobi Kwakye, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, Julius Debrah, and Betty Mould Iddrisu as members of the Steering Committee.

According to the statement, the national campaign teams would work under the guidance of the Steering Committee, which is headed by its national chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah.

The statement further noted that “the National Campaign Team and the Steering Committee shall all work under the leadership of the flag-bearer of the party, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, and would report to the Functional and National Executive Committees of the party in the discharge of their duties.
