An initiative aimed at nurturing leadership qualities among young leaders, christened Y3L, or Young Leaders Learning Lab, has been launched in Accra.
Founder and Chief Executive Officer of CTL Leadership Africa and the programme initiator, Samuel Ayim, believes that the Y3L programme will bridge the divide between what students are taught in school and what happens in real life after school.
The programmeme, which is a one-year multi-module fellowship programmeme, seeks to enrol young people from school who, in turn, will “have a strong basis to go into the world to lead ” accordi according to Mr. Ayim.
“There are five dimensions of the programme that we want to explore,” he said, listing them as personal development, corporate and professional leadership, financial and entrepreneurial leadership, values and African orientation, and leadership development being the main module.
“Everything rises and falls on leadership, but many do not know how to lead. They do not have the right mindset for leadership; that is why we have developed the Y3L, which is going to be a combination of online learning, workshops, mentorships, and coaching. We will bring leaders to share the experiences of their lives so that the people who will go through this programme will be very well met and ready for the world,” he furthered.
With an objective of impacting one million young Africans in the next 5 to 10 years, Mr. Ayim explained that interested young people can join in by registering as members via ctlafricleadership.com, following which they will have access to the various resources, including coaching and mentorship opportunities.
