Founder of Alive Chapel International, Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako, and his wife, Mouha Amoako, have been arrested following their 16-year-old son’s involvement in a tragic accident at East Legon on Saturday, October 12, 2024.
The accident claimed the lives of two 12-year-old girls.
According to police reports, their son was driving a Jaguar SUV with registration number GN 7801-20 when he crashed into a 4×4 Honda Acura (GR 2542-23), driven by Joseph Ackah, who had four other occupants. The collision occurred at Dzanie Ashie, East Legon, and resulted in both vehicles catching fire and burning beyond recognition.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Ghana Police Service confirmed that Bishop Amoako and Mouha are currently in custody, assisting with the investigation due to their son’s young age and the severity of the incident.
“The parents of the 16-year-old suspect driver, Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako and Mouha Amoako, are currently in custody, assisting the investigation.”
The statement furthered that a team from the Police Management Board, led by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has since visited the bereaved family to offer condolences and also checked on the injured at the hospital.
The police assured the public of a thorough investigation to bring closure to the affected family, adding, “We continue to remember them in our prayers during this difficult time.”
