Ghana has secured the bid to host the Association Cambiste Internationale (ACI) World Congress in 2026, marking a historic milestone for the country and the African continent.
The announcement was made by the local chapter, ACI Ghana – The Financial Markets Association – on Thursday, June 19.
This will be only the second time in the congress’s history that the event is held in Africa, and the first in 17 years. The global flagship event, which brings together financial market professionals from across the world, will take place in Ghana’s capital, Accra.
ACI Ghana described the development as a “historic win” and credited the achievement to the hard work of its local team and the support of the broader financial community.
“This marks the first time in 17 years — and only the second time ever — that this prestigious flagship event will be held on African soil. And it’s coming home to Ghana,” the association said in a public announcement.
“Let’s celebrate this incredible milestone — but more importantly, let’s get ready to raise the bar as we welcome the world to Accra in 2026,” it added.
The ACI World Congress is a major annual gathering of financial market participants, including dealers, bankers, treasurers, regulators, and policymakers. It serves as a platform for thought leadership, networking, and discussions on global financial trends and regulatory developments.
Hosting the event is expected to spotlight Ghana’s growing reputation as a financial hub in West Africa and boost the local economy through increased tourism and business engagement.
Further details on dates, speakers, and programming are expected to be released in the coming months as planning for the 2026 Congress intensifies.
