The Government has taken a significant step to address ongoing road transport challenges with the arrival of 100 newly procured 29-seater buses in the country.
Announcing the development, Government Communications Minister Felix Kwakye Ofosu said the buses form part of a broader plan to strengthen public transport capacity nationwide.
“In the meantime, 100 29-seater buses have arrived in the country to ease recent road transport challenges. They form part of 300 procured for the purpose. Another batch of 100 will arrive in August, with the last batch of 100 arriving in November,” he stated.
The intervention comes amid growing concerns over the limited availability of vehicles, particularly in major urban centres, and reports of passenger exploitation.
Authorities expect the additional buses to improve commuter mobility, reduce waiting times, and ease pressure on existing transport systems.
