The Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment has announced the immediate suspension of the Central Management System (CMS) used by the National Service Authority (NSA) for processing postings.
In a press release issued on Wednesday, June 18, the Ministry stated that the action follows a directive from the Office of the President in response to emerging concerns about the integrity of the digital infrastructure supporting the service’s operations.
The CMS, which has been at the core of the NSA’s posting procedures, will undergo a comprehensive technical and forensic review.
The Ministry described the move as a “decisive step” taken in the national interest.
“The Ministry wishes to assure the general public, especially National Service Personnel and stakeholders, that measures are being put in place to ensure that the operations of the Authority are not disrupted,” the statement read.
It further indicated that alternative systems and verification procedures are being explored to maintain smooth and transparent service delivery during the suspension.
While the nature of the concerns prompting the review was not specified, the Ministry called for calm and cooperation from the public and service personnel as investigations and reviews are undertaken.
Additional information is expected to be communicated in due course. The Ministry has urged all affected persons to stay engaged with official channels for verified updates.
