Former president and flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress, President John Dramani Mahama, paid a courtesy call to Yapei-Wura Chief A.B.T. Zakaria Bikunuto at his palace on June 14, 2024.

Mr. Mahama stated during the visit, among other things, that the people of Yapei can discern which party cares for their interests.

According to him, the visit was to honour the memory of his late parents at their graveyards.

“June 14 marks the day my beloved mother answered the call to her maker, and I deemed it an annual duty to always visit the graves of both my dad and mom to pray for them,” the former president revealed.

Chief A.B.T. Zakaria Bikunuto, Yapei-Wura, presented a pure white smock to Mr. Mahama to wish him success in the upcoming general elections.

Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor, Member of Parliament for Yapei/Kusawgu Constituency, also promised the NDC flagbearer to win both parliamentary seats and presidential elections in all the constituencies of the Savannah region.

Hon. Jinapor indicated that he is ready to take this year’s campaign to the next level to prove to all that the Savannah region is a stronghold of the NDC and a no-go area for the NPP.
