2024: Beckons for more (Part 1) (Article)

OPINION: Inclusivity of persons with disability: a worthy cause all must pursue
ShareTweetSendShareSend

The indescribable, one-of-a-kind surge of excitement that surrounded my heart marked my transition from December 31st to the much-anticipated year 2024. It was such a great feeling. It happened to be an all-white service of adoration, thanksgiving, prayer, and feeding on the word in a vigil at the Dome Central Auditorium, The Church of Pentecost, on December 31, 2023.

January 1, 2024, is a new beginning—a promising beginning indeed. 2023 was an interesting year filled with mistakes, lessons, and both fond and bad memories. An adventure I loved riding in all because I discovered so much, compromised, took certain risks, met amazing people, lost friends, and gained favour in the sight of God and men.

Here is yet another year to rewrite, recreate, and make certain stories and memories. As a common adage says, Life is how you live. Your actions, choices, associations, and environment influence how one lives life in a worthy manner. 2023 died with its hatchet of milestones we chalked, the ones we wished but never achieved. All in all, this is a new year the creator bestowed on us, whether or not we deserved it.

We are told in the study of history that the past has something to say, which means the future is better understood with the past in view. Nevertheless, to forge forward in the current year, learn to make peace with the past. Acknowledge the all-knowing great one in your ways this year. Refrain from judging or writing off others. Dare to dream! Psyche your mind to achieve ‘correct difficulty’ goals and tasks.

For young adults, seek to refine your personality to suit your evolving self. Invest in education, spiritual relationships, mutually beneficial relationships, a career, and anything else that makes you happy. Always remember to live every moment. Believe you have what it takes to impact society. Be intentional about growth, set meaningful boundaries, and aspire for more. Don’t be pressured; move at your own pace and give your best to the people closest to you. Work hard, plan, watch, and pray. Most especially, make 2024 count.

Together, we will have a wonderful year.
