Vice President and NPP presidential candidate for the 2024 elections, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, will be delivering his development agenda on February 7, 2024, at the UPSA auditorium.

Themed “Ghana’s Next Chapter: Selfless Leadership and Bold Solutions for the Future,” the event will likely feature an announcement by Dr. Bawumia of his headline policy.

The Vice President, who has largely championed the digitalization efforts of the ruling administration, is expected to highlight more initiatives he would be leading in that space if he becomes President.

He is also expected to outline key economic interventions his new government will implement amidst the ongoing IMF programme.

Delivering his victory speech after winning his party’s flag-bearer ticket in November 2023, Dr. Bawumia asserted that although he was serving under President Nana Akufo- Addo, he would be his own man and have his own personal vision for the country.

His main contender, former President John Mahama of the NDC, has already revealed some key policies his government will bring on board if voted for, including a 24-hour economy, which his supporters have described as a game changer.

Mr. Mahama has also served notice of his intention to review a flagship programme of the Akufo-Addo administration, the Free Senior High School Policy.

Dr. Bawumia is expected to deliver his vision next Wednesday at the Kofi Ohene Konadu Auditorium of the University of Professional Studies, Accra, at 5 p.m.
