Research outfit Global InfoAnalytics has observed that the NPP is marginally ahead of the NDC by some 1.1% in Tuesday’s by-election in Assin North.

On the other hand, 6.9% of the people interviewed were undecided.

In a Twitter post on Sunday, Global InfoAnalytics found that 46.7% preferred the NPP’s Charles Opoku, while 45.6% preferred James Gyakye Quayson of the NDC. 0.3% bet on Bernice Sefenu of the LPG.

According to the research body, the study was carried out from June 23 to June 25, 2023, in all 18 electoral areas with a sample size of 2,500.

The research also found that 6.9% of the respondents were not settled on who to vote for at the time of the research, and 0.5% declared they would not vote.

The two leading parties undertook their final major round of campaigning today, with the NPP holding a rally at the Assin Bereku Methodist Park and the NDC holding a “radio rally” on Rich FM in Assin North.

Both campaigns featured prominent personalities, including President Akufo-Addo, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Former President John Mahama, and Minority Leader Cassiel Ato-Forson.

Since last week, officials of both parties have accused each other of vote-buying.
