The Civil and Local Government Service Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) has declared a nationwide strike beginning Wednesday, July 3, 2024, over what they say is the non-implementation of the new salary structure by the government.
A notice dated July 2, 2024, signed by Isaac Bampoe Addo, Executive Secretary of CLOGSAG, asked all staff to stay away from work until further notice.
“Indicating our intentions to proceed on a nationwide strike if the new salary structure for the staff of the civil service and local government service is not implemented, we hereby declare a nationwide strike with effect from Wednesday, July 3, 2024.”
“All staff of the Civil Service and Local Government Service should stay away from work until further notice,” the statement said.
“Similarly, all CLOGSAG Secretariats and Offices are the to be shut down”, the statement added.
