The Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) has called off its strike, which began on July 3, over the conditions of service of its members.
The Association, in a statement on July 12, said it ended the strike because of the commitment of the government represented by various agencies related to the salary structure for its members.
The other parties include the Office of the Senior Presidential Adviser, the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations, and the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission.
“The Government acknowledged and committed itself to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on the 19th January 2022 and gave the assurance that the process for finalization of the Salary Structure will be completed by 31st October 2024 and implemented with effect from 1st January 2025,” the statement revealed.
“On the basis of the above, CLOGSAG agreed to call off the strike with immediate effect,” the statement added.
