The Electoral Commission has noted that it will be conducting another round of elections to break the ties between districts whose representatives recorded equal numbers of votes.
The 2023 District Level Elections were held on December 19 in districts across the country, with the exception of a few, due to logistical constraints.
In a statement on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, the EC said that “following the collation of results from the just-ended district-level elections, 20 Electoral Areas for Assembly Members and 41 Electoral Areas for Unit Committee Members across the country produced the same results for the contestants.”
“As a result, there will be a need to conduct run-off elections in these areas to break the ties and determine the winners in these electoral areas,”, the statement added.
