The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has rescued 26 victims of human trafficking and arrested nine suspects in a joint operation with QNET, a wellness and lifestyle company.

The exercise, codenamed Operation Quest, was carried out on Friday, October 17, 2025, by EOCO’s Anti-Human Trafficking Unit following intelligence that some Ghanaians and foreign nationals had been trafficked under the guise of job offers linked to QNET.

According to EOCO, the suspects—two Ivorians and seven Ghanaians—are currently in custody assisting with investigations. The victims comprised ten Ivorians and sixteen Ghanaians.

In a statement signed by EOCO’s Head of Public Affairs, Faustina Lartey, the agency explained that the victims were deceived by individuals and groups posing as QNET agents who promised lucrative employment opportunities both in Ghana and abroad.

“The operation followed credible intelligence that some foreigners and Ghanaians had been trafficked under the guise of providing employment with the QNET Company, a reputable firm which trades in wellness and lifestyle products,” EOCO stated.

EOCO cautioned the public to be wary of individuals claiming to recruit on behalf of QNET, emphasising that such false agents are exploiting unsuspecting people for criminal gain.

“EOCO wishes to advise the general public to report all cases of individuals and groups who claim to be agents of QNET who can provide job opportunities at the company either in Ghana or abroad,” the statement warned.

The agency also recalled that in July this year, EOCO and QNET signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to clamp down on criminal networks using the company’s name to facilitate human trafficking and fraudulent recruitment schemes.
