The Public Relations Officer of Marwako Restaurant has revealed that Ghana’s Food and Drugs Authority has requested the company to close all of its branches as the authority looks into its food poisoning issue.
In an interview with Accra-based TV3, Mohammed Amin Lamptey said that this request, if granted, is going to significantly affect their business.
Earlier on Thursday, the FDA shut down the East Legon branch of the restaurant. However, according to Mr. Lamptey, the authority wishes to extend the closure to all other branches of the company.
According to the spokesperson, “we respect whatever decision they come up with as the one who gave us the license, but for them to request that we close all our branches is very unfortunate.” It is going to affect us not only psychologically, but financially.”
