A magnificent farewell service was held today at the State House for the renowned former Chairman of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle (Rtd) Michael Kwabena Ntumy.

In attendance at the event were the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Chief of Staff, Mrs. Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, former President John Mahama, Chairman of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, Ministers of the Gospel, and a host of other local and international dignitaries.

Tributes read at the event eulogised the enduring and selfless disposition of the late M. K. Ntumy during his 39 years of service to the Church of Pentecost and the Christian community in general.

Vice President Bawumia, who read the tribute on behalf of President Nana Akufo-Addo, thanked the former COP Chairman for his contribution to the discourse on development.

Dr. Bawumia also praised him for his integrity and sterling leadership qualities.

The late M. K. Ntumy was later transported to his hometown in Kete Krachi via air, where he was interred.

Apostle Rtd. Ntumy, 65, was Chairman of the Church of Pentecost between 1998 and 2008.

He also served the church in various capacities, including as the National Pastor in Liberia, where he survived the civil war at the time.

He died on December 27, 2023 in Germany, a few weeks after his official retirement.
