The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has successfully evacuated three Ghanaian traders who sustained injuries during a terrorist attack in Burkina Faso.
In a press release issued on February 18, 2026, the military said the traders were injured in an attack that occurred on Saturday, February 14, 2026. The evacuation operation was carried out on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, by the Ghana Air Force as part of a coordinated humanitarian and security response by the Government of Ghana.
“The Ghana Armed Forces has successfully evacuated three Ghanaian traders who were injured in a terrorist attack on Saturday 14 February 2026, in Burkina Faso,” the statement said.
According to the release, the injured traders have since been transported to the 37 Military Hospital in Accra for further medical assessment and treatment.
“The injured have since been conveyed to the 37 Military Hospital for further medical assessment and treatment,” GAF noted.
The military also expressed sympathy to families affected by the incident, which reportedly claimed lives in the attack.
“The Ghana Armed Forces extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved families, prays for the repose of the souls of the deceased and wishes the injured speedy recovery,” the statement added.
