The Government of Ghana has expressed its support for former U.S. President Donald J. Trump’s 20-point Gaza peace proposal, describing it as a “welcome development” that could end years of conflict and human suffering in the Middle East.
In a press statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 3rd October 2025, Ghana commended the initiative as a “groundbreaking plan” aimed at rebuilding Gaza, preventing annexation, and advancing a comprehensive peace agenda between Israel and Palestine.
“The Government of the Republic of Ghana welcomes the groundbreaking Gaza peace plan proposed by President Donald J. Trump intended to bring an end to the tremendous suffering and loss of human lives in the conflict,” the statement said.
It added: “It is our hope that the initiative will ultimately provide a viable pathway for achieving a just, comprehensive and lasting peace, in which the States of Israel and Palestine can exist side by side in harmony and security.”
The Ministry reaffirmed Ghana’s readiness to collaborate with international partners “to foster dialogue and understanding in revitalising the Middle East Peace Process”, urging all factions to commit to the proposal for sustainable peace.
