The 2025 Ghana Food Festival (GFF) has officially opened with a strong appeal to the public to extend support to underprivileged individuals and communities.

Founder of the festival, Emmanuel T. Forson, urged Ghanaians to look beyond the celebration of local cuisine and embrace the event’s broader mission of social impact. “This year’s edition aims to create meaningful social impact through acts of kindness and community support,” he said.

Now in its fifth edition, the festival will take place on Farmers’ Day Weekend — Friday, 5th and Saturday, 6th December 2025 — at the Untamed Empire on Spintex Road in Accra, starting at 10:00 a.m. each day. The event is endorsed by the Ghana Tourism Authority under the Black Star Experience and features on the #DecemberInGH calendar.

Honouring Farmers

This year’s theme, “Honouring Our Farmers, Tasting Our Culture,” pays tribute to Ghana’s farmers and spotlights the crucial role agriculture plays in shaping the nation’s culinary heritage.

What to Expect

The two-day festival will showcase a dynamic mix of traditional and contemporary Ghanaian dishes including jollof rice, waakye, fufu, kenkey, grilled tilapia, banku, kebabs, and palm wine.

Visitors can also expect live music and cultural performances, art and craft exhibitions, a kids’ playground, a movie night, and a range of interactive games.

Giving Back: CSR Initiative

A key feature of this year’s event is the Donation Corner Booth, where attendees can donate toiletries, basic clothing, non-perishable food items, educational materials, and household essentials.

Those unable to stay for the event are encouraged to drop off their donations or contact organisers to arrange delivery. All contributions will be distributed after the festival to selected underprivileged communities in Accra and beyond.

Partners and Support

The 2025 festival is supported by the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), Ameyaw Debrah Media, Graphic Communications Group Limited, Breeze 90.9 FM, and Metro TV. Other media partners include Ghana News Agency, ZM News, GH Media Hub, Nation One TV, and MBN TV.

Call for Vendors, Partners, and Sponsors

Food and non-food vendors, as well as organisations interested in partnership or sponsorship opportunities, are invited to participate in this year’s festival.
