The President of Mozambique, H.E. Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, has advised Ghana to handle all recent threats of terrorism with all seriousness.

Speaking at the 2nd sitting of the 2nd meeting of the 2nd session of the 8th Parliament, he revealed that terrorism has claimed the lives of over 2000 people in his country so far.

President Nyusi, together with other dignitaries, has been in Ghana for a 4-day official visit at the invitation of H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

This is the first time a sitting President of Mozambique has paid an official visit to Ghana.

Ghana’s Ministry of National Security has lately conscientised the public about the need to be on their alert following extremist and terrorism attacks in neighbouring countries. On Tuesday, the “See Something, Say Something” campaign was launched with the object of educating the citizenry and creating the needed awareness on terrorism matters.

Presidet Nyusi and his delegation are expected to leave Ghana on Wednesday.
