The Assistant Women’s Leader of the Madina Zone of the Global Evangelical Church, Madam Patience Vormawor, has called on Ghanaian women to advise their children against acts of violence, even as the country prepares for its major elections in December.

She observed that Ghanaian politicians often use youth to trigger tension and violence during elections, causing harm to themselves and others.

She therefore asked that the youth who are of voting age should get back home as soon as they are done voting.

“And during the election day too, when they vote those of age, when they vote, you go back home so that you don’t involve yourself in things that spark election violence.”

“Elections are coming. Usually our children are used by politicians to advance their courses, and so we, as women, need to speak to our children to be very careful and not get themselves involved, especially in conflict situations that arise as a result of electoral misunderstandings,” she advised.

Madam Vormawor also called on the politicians to desist from anything that may spark violence during the elections.
She said they should consider how election violence has cost most African countries within the sub-region and do all they can to ensure peace prevails before, during, and after the general elections slated for December 7, 2024.

She made this passionate call when the Women’s Ministry of the church stormed the Madina Market on Saturday, March 23, 2024, to reach out to traders with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

She said, considering the recent spate of deaths in the country, that it was important that everyone give their lives to Christ in order to be under his protection.

The Vice President of the group, Madam Patience Dzorbgenu, shed more light on the essence of the day. According to her, they have observed that most people whom the Lord has created in his image have not given their lives to Christ.

She said the reason for Christ’s coming was to save the world from their sins and that God loves even the sinner so much that He sent His only begotten Son to come and die for their sins.

Though we are sinners because of His abundance of love towards us, He sent His begotten Son to come and die for the sins of the world,” she added.

She stated that the programme they organised on the day was a zonal one and that they hope to embark on it from time to time.

She said that anyone who accepts that He or she was born a sinner believes in the heart that and confesses with the Lord that Christ Jesus is the Lord and personal saviour of the Lord shall be saved and saved forever.

Meanwhile, the former organiser of the women’s group, Madam Patience Akoadzi, hinted that the group will do a follow-up on the souls they have reached out to on Saturday.

Madam Akoadzi said they will be following up on the souls from time to time to ensure that they do not stray from the right path.

“We will do a follow-up on the souls that we have reached out to today, because that is so essential since it will help whip them on the right way, the way of Christ,” she said.

She said the number one reason why she will always preach Christ to the lost is as a result of Christ’s promise to give life and life in abundance to anyone who accepts Him as his Lord and Personal Saviour, adding that her reason for living is her stand in the Lord.

After over two hours of evangelization in and around the market community, the women met at the Madina Urban Council, where they started off to share final words of exhortation.
