‘I didn’t resign’ as coach — Black Stars’ Carlos Queiroz dismisses exit reports

Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has dismissed reports suggesting he has resigned from his position, clarifying that a recent message he issued was merely one of appreciation and not a resignation.

The clarification came during a brief interaction with a Ghanaian supporter at an undisclosed location, where the fan congratulated the coach for his work with the national team and sought confirmation over widespread speculation about his future.

“You did a very great job. Ghana is proud of you,” the supporter told Queiroz during the encounter.

The fan also introduced his father to the coach, prompting a light-hearted exchange before congratulating him once again on his performance.

However, the conversation quickly turned to reports circulating on social media claiming the Black Stars coach had stepped down.

“But why did you resign?” the fan asked.

Queiroz immediately rejected the claim.

“I didn’t resign,” he responded.

When the supporter insisted that news reports had indicated otherwise, the coach clarified the situation, saying: “No, I sent my message of gratitude.”

Meanwhile, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) says it has not received any formal resignation letter from Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz, despite widespread reports suggesting the Argentine has stepped down from his role.
