The Ministry of Education has announced the release of the computerised school placement of Senior High Schools, Technical and Vocational Education and Training Institute.

In a press release on October 28, 2024, the ministry declared that out of 563,339 results they received from WAEC, 553,155 candidates qualified to be placed. Following the 563,339 candidate who qualified, 447,698 (80.93%) candidates qualified for automatic placement in one of their selected schools whereas 104,918 could not be matched to any of their selections.

According to the statement, “out of the 104,918, 73,390 (13.27%) qualified candidates have been placed in schools similar to those they selected, and such students are at liberty to accept or reject the offer.”

The statement gave liberty to students who abhor the schools they have been placed in to go ahead and select a school of their choice from the Self-Placement platform.

“Schools selected on the Self-Placement portal can be changed as many times as the candidate wishes until they enrol in the school,” the statement noted.

It prompted parents and guardians to disregard unscrupulous individuals who will request money for the computerised school placement as it is a merit-based platform that requires logging on to the site with candidates’ index numbers in addition to the year of completion, which is denoted by the number ’24’, and other procedures on the platform to access and complete the school placement option.

It explained that to access the placement platform, students are to:

“Log on to the site www.cssps.gov.gh or www.cssps.org

Enter the ten-digit index number and add 24 as the year of completion. E.g., 123456789024

Click on Submit and wait for placement to show up

Proceed to do self-placement if not placed

Print your enrolment form, placement slip and prospectus

You may visit the school for registration. Alternatively, you may register online via www.admissions.cssps.gov.gh”

“For accessing SHS/SHSTS/TVET placement is free, no PIN codes are required” it added.

The MOE announced further that heads of all institutions have been directed to begin registration and orientation on October 30, 2024 and commence academic work by November 7, 2024 for freshmen.

“The public is hereby informed that in addition to the National Solution Centre at the GNAT Hall, Adabraka, Accra and ALL the 16 Regional Solution Centers, they can call our helpline on 0308258001 for all concerns,” the statement concluded.
