My boss Bawumia is incorruptible – NAPO tells Manasseh

The NPP running mate for the 2024 elections, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has described his leader, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as incorruptible.

Dr. Prempeh, popularly known as NAPO, said this on Tuesday at his Accra campaign office upon receiving two copies of the book “The President Ghana Never Got,” written by journalist Manasseh Azure.

“One thing I can say is that I serve a flagbearer who is not corrupt.”

“Dr. Bawumia would not be corrupted by power or cover up corruption,” he asserted.

Dr. Prempeh emphasised the unfair application of corruption to leaders, highlighting that perspectives on the book may differ depending on one’s stance, causing some to take defensive postures.

“Others may equally agree with you. Others might be indifferent. But nevertheless, it’s your perspectives that you are rendering,” Dr. Prempeh told the one-time GJA journalist of the year.

He also commented on Manasseh’s preference for NDC’s Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang as running mate to himself, stating that that was the author’s personal perspective based on the author’s own criteria.

NAPO maintained that he had performed better than Prof. Opoku Agyeman as far as work at the Education Ministry was concerned.

“And as I live a life of revelation, I know that given the chance, when a new set of empirical data is provided to you, you will come to different conclusions because it is not set in stone. And I would always say, Watch the space.”

“I start from her own write-up; that is the handover notes that she gave me, without knowledge of her, and like I say, we did way better,” he argued.

The NPP running mate further encouraged Ghanaians to inculcate the habit of reading and, more importantly, writing about themselves, adding that “if you don’t write about yourself, someone will write about you.”
