It has emerged that the High Court in Accra has no record of a last will for the late highlife musician Charles Kwadwo Fosuh, popularly known as Daddy Lumba.
The revelation comes from a registry search conducted at the Probate and Administration Division of the High Court as part of the legal process to manage the late musician’s estate.
The search, requested to ascertain whether Daddy Lumba had filed a will, sought details such as the date of deposit, the individual who submitted it, and the lawyer who prepared the document.
However, the registry’s response, dated January 19, 2026, confirmed that there is no record of any will filed by the musician. The statement, signed and stamped by the Registrar of the Probate and Administration Division, indicated that no such document exists in the court’s records.
With no recorded will, the administration of Daddy Lumba’s estate may proceed under Ghana’s intestate succession laws, unless a will emerges from another source.
This development introduces a new set of legal considerations for the family and representatives tasked with managing the late artist’s estate.
Daddy Lumba, celebrated for his lasting contributions to Ghanaian highlife music, passed away leaving behind a significant cultural and musical legacy.
However, events leading to his funeral have been marred by disputes among family members, including his spouses, and legal wrangles over the management of his estate, raising concerns about the timely and smooth administration of his assets.
