NPP presidential aspirant Kennedy Agyapong says it would not be the end for him if he fails to win in Saturday’s elections.
Speaking to journalists after casting his vote in Assin Central, the outspoken lawmaker said that with his experience with elections in the past, anything is bound to happen at the end of the polls.
Despite expressing confidence in winning based on the campaign he has put up over the period, he stated that he is not bent on becoming the flagbearer of the party at all costs.
“I’m going into an election; I know I can win and I know I can lose, so I don’t have a problem at all congratulating the winner if I don’t win,” Mr. Agyapong said.
He, however, called on party executives and other stakeholders to ensure a fair playing field, as he will not countenance any attempt to usurp the legitimate will of delegates.
“I have seen what happened this morning, and it is my prayer that it will continue everywhere. If this is the situation and it goes on smoothly and one emerges and it is not me, why will I say I will not accept the results? The election is 50-50; you can win or lose”.
“If the election is not fair, I will have a problem,” he warned.
