ORC welcomes Maame Samma Peprah as Acting Registrar of Companies

The Office of the Registrar of Companies (ORC) has announced the appointment of Mrs Maame Samma Peprah as the Acting Registrar of Companies, effective March 17, 2025. She takes over from Mrs Jemima M. Oware, who served in the role from March 2022 to February 2025.

In a formal handing-over ceremony held in Accra, Mrs Oware expressed her gratitude to the management and staff of the ORC for their support throughout her tenure. 

She highlighted key achievements under her leadership and encouraged continued collaboration to sustain the progress made. Mrs Oware also pledged her commitment to supporting her successor and called for regular engagements between the registrar and the directorates to enhance efficiency and service delivery.

In her inaugural remarks, Mrs Peprah conveyed her appreciation for the warm reception and the seamless transition facilitated by her predecessor. She underscored the importance of teamwork and collaboration at all levels, emphasising her commitment to strengthening the ORC’s operational framework. Additionally, she acknowledged the invaluable contributions of Mrs Oware and expressed her willingness to tap into her expertise to build upon the institution’s existing successes.

Profile of Mrs Maame Samma Peprah, Esq.

Mrs Maame Samma Peprah is a distinguished legal and corporate governance professional with a wealth of experience in corporate law, regulatory compliance, and strategic leadership. Her academic credentials include an LL.M in Oil and Gas Law and Policy from the University of Dundee, a Barrister-at-Law qualification from the Ghana School of Law, and an LLB from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

With an illustrious career spanning both the public and private sectors, Mrs Peprah has played pivotal roles in institutions such as Cenpower Generation Ltd, Law Trust Company, the Attorney-General’s Department, and the Legal Aid Board. She also serves as an adjunct lecturer at the GIMPA Law Faculty, contributing to the development of legal education in Ghana.

Her expertise in stakeholder engagement enables her to navigate complex legal landscapes while fostering strategic partnerships and operational success. Her extensive background in legal advisory, corporate governance, and policy development positions her as a dynamic leader ready to drive efficiency, transparency, and excellence at the Companies Registry.

As she embarks on this new role, Mrs Peprah has reaffirmed her dedication to upholding the highest standards of service, ensuring that the ORC continues to be a key pillar in Ghana’s business regulatory environment.
