Parliament resumes sitting today as the Ninth Parliament reconvenes for the Second Meeting of its First Session.
The recall follows a brief postponement of the earlier schedule due to procedural and administrative adjustments.
The sitting is expected to commence formally this afternoon, with Members of Parliament gathering at the Parliament House in Accra to consider a number of key national matters.
High on the agenda is the consideration of a bill to repeal L.I. 2462 and L.I. 2501, which relate to mining in forest reserves, as part of ongoing legislative efforts to strengthen environmental protection and resource governance. Also expected during this meeting is the presentation of the 2026 Statement of Budget and Economic Policy, slated for November.
Other matters scheduled for discussion include the presentation of committee reports, debate on new or pending bills, and the continuation of general legislative business
