A PILLAR OF STRENGTH
A pillar of strength, they call me
A beacon of light, a steady flame
I stand so tall, an anchor in the storm
The world finds shelter in my warm form
They come with their burdens, hearts so full,
Unloading their pain, their worries on me
I listen, I guide, with a comforting touch
But inside, the weight feels excess
A mask of calm, a soothing smile
Hiding the struggle I’ve known for a while
They lean on me, my shoulders strong,
But who will catch me when things go wrong?
In their shadows, I stand so bright
Yet in my darkness, there’s no one
I lift their spirits, help them rise,
But my own heart breaks beneath the sky
They expect my strength, my unyielding grace
But I long for someone to hold my space
A single touch, a kind embrace
To hold me up in this lonely place
A fortress they seek, a harbor they get
Yet I am adrift in the silence of my mind
A friend to all, yet who is there
To ask me how I truly fare?
