Poem: “Contentment” by Reynold Adjei

CONTENTMENT

This world is full of varieties; treating us to pleasant and not so pleasant delicacies.
There’s an unending desire to man’s insatiable needs; man always wants more!

But this desire as harmless as it seems is the destruction of man.
His inability to appreciate and give thanks is his greatest downfall.

What he sees he wants; what his heart yearns for, he must soothe it otherwise he can’t function properly.
The truth is inevitable and that’s the reality man is refusing to embrace.

Variety is the spice of life and because man hasn’t understood this, he lives his days in worry and despair.
There’ll aways be someone out there richer.

There’ll always be a woman more beautiful than your woman.
There’ll always be someone with more sophisticated gadgets than yours.

No matter the state you’re in, there’s someone out there who is ahead of
You in all aspects and if you were wise you would know that godliness with contentment is great gain.

So today as you go about your business, let your lips bubble with gratitude and thanks .
Be glad in your heart that you’re able to hustle and live quite a comfortable
Life.

This is the sum of man: to be content and satisfied with whatever he has at
The moment and praise God for bigger and better things in the future.

Selah
