DEBRIS
What is left of us is the residue of what was the envy of the stars.
We’re now a pale shadow of our past glories and sublime perfection.
You were to me what the stars are to the moon and I was fulfilled every second of the day.
I remember when you told me I keep you safe from the cold; I keep you warm in the freezing chills of the night.
You would scamper beneath my flat chest and nibble my flat nipples as you oozed gently into Neverland.
I would guide your tongue to other forbidden places as you snoozed and left me hanging in a balance.
You my love have left me in the midst of pain and heartache.
You’ve torn me apart and shredded me to pieces.
I think about all those moments where my tongue was your song and my eyes were your ice.
You would freeze as I gazed into your pupils and planted kisses on your bedeviling lips.
Now we’re no more and there’s nothing left of us save the debris that still lays testament to our once blooming love.
It is what it is and I move on however painful it is.
It is well.
