President Akufo-Addo has announced some changes to his administration after criticisms from several quarters.

Adansi Asokwa MP, Kobina Tahiru Hammond, has been chosen to succeed Alan Kyerematen at the Trade and Industry Ministry.

Bryan Acheampong, a member of parliament from the Abetifi Constituency, has also been nominated to lead the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, while Osei Bonsu Amoah, a member of parliament from Akwapim South, has been chosen to serve as Minister of State in the Ministry of Local Government.

Stephen Amoah, a former MASLOC leader and member of parliament for Nhyiaeso, has been proposed as the deputy trade minister.

At the Finance Ministry, Mohammed Amin Adam has also been promoted to the position of Minister of State after the exit of embattled former Minister Charles Adu Boahen.

Former Director-General of the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA), Stephen Asamoah-Boateng, is appointed as the new Minister of Chieftancy and Religious Affairs.

Over the past weeks, the government has witnessed resignations from the Ministers of Trade and Industry, Alan Kyerematen; Food and Agriculture, Owusu Afriyie Akoto; and Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Ebenezer Kojo Kum.

Herbert Krapa, a Deputy Trade Minister, has been moved to the Energy Ministry as a deputy minister.

The President had been berated by the opposition and some members of his party for not removing or reassigning members of his cabinet since he took over in 2017.
