Consumers across Ghana are set to pay more for sachet water from Monday, April 6, 2026, following a price adjustment announced by the National Association of Sachet and Packaged Water Producers (NASPAWAP).
In a statement issued on Thursday, April 2, the association cited a global shortage of polymers and rising production costs, partly driven by the ongoing conflict in Iran, as key factors behind the increase. According to NASPAWAP, the surge in input costs has made it difficult for producers to maintain existing prices.
Under the new pricing structure, a bag of 30 sachets (500ml each) will sell at GH¢8 at the factory level, GH¢10 at the wholesale (ex-truck) level, and up to GH¢15 at the retail level.
The association is urging both retailers and consumers to comply with the revised prices to promote fairness across the supply chain.
It emphasized that the adjustment is critical to sustaining production and ensuring the continued availability of safe drinking water nationwide.
