The Centre for School and Community Science and Technology Studies (SACOST) at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with InovTech STEM Centre.
The signing took place at the Institute for Educational Research and Innovation Studies (IERIS) Conference Room on Friday, January 24, 2025.
This collaboration aims to foster the development and implementation of innovative educational initiatives to enhance STEM learning at various educational levels across the country.
A key component of the MoU is the training and empowerment of a dedicated volunteer workforce to support STEM education in schools and community settings.
Volunteers will receive specialised training to engage students and educators effectively, creating an interactive learning environment that fosters a passion for science and technology.
The agreement also establishes a framework for executing collaborative projects that leverage SACOST-UEW’s STEM education expertise alongside the practical applications championed by InovTech STEM Centre. This synergy is expected to drive impactful projects that can serve as models for other educational institutions nationwide.

Stakeholders believe this partnership will significantly enhance students’ skill sets, making them more competitive in the global job market. A focus on grant sourcing will ensure the financing of innovative projects that address local and national challenges, ensuring STEM education remains practical and relevant to real-world applications.
With the signing concluded, both institutions are set to embark on this transformative journey, marking a pivotal moment in the evolution of STEM education in Ghana. Students and educators can look forward to increased resources, opportunities, and collaborations aimed at unlocking the vast potential of Ghana’s youth.
The partnership between SACOST-UEW and InovTech STEM Centre will commence implementation immediately, with several initiatives planned for the coming months to create a meaningful impact in local communities and educational institutions.
