The management of Nkenkaasu Government Hospital in the Ashanti Region has issued a formal query to a staff nurse, Ms Bernice Aboagye, after she was allegedly captured in a viral video using “unprintable, inappropriate and scandalous words” against the Minister of Health.
In a letter dated October 10, 2025, and signed by the Medical Superintendent, Dr Samuel Freeman Mensah, the hospital expressed concern that the videos, now circulating widely on social media, had drawn “several calls from well-meaning Ghanaians registering their misgivings and reservations about the content.”
The letter added that the videos had become a subject of intense discussion online, with many making “all manner of disparaging comments about the Service”, a situation the hospital described as damaging to the reputation of the Ghana Health Service.
“You are therefore required to explain why disciplinary action should not be instituted against you,” the query stated, citing three breaches of the Ghana Health Service Code of Conduct and Disciplinary Procedures.
These include rude behaviour toward the Minister of Health contrary to Section 8.1(c), use of abusive language toward the Minister contrary to Section 8.1(i), and tarnishing the corporate image of the Service contrary to Section 4.1(d). T
The hospital has attached copies of the videos for Ms Aboagye’s review and requested that she submit a written response by October 24, 2025.
Dr Mensah said that the alleged conduct undermines public confidence in the Service and brings its name into disrepute.
