The National Coordinator of the School Feeding Programme, Mrs. Gertrude Quashigah, has passed away.

She reportedly died peacefully on Sunday, November 12, 2023.

She was the wife of the late Major Courage E. K. Quashigah (Rtd), a former minister in the Kufuor administration.

In May 2021, Mrs. Quashigah was relieved of her position as the National Coordinator of the Ghana School Feeding Programme in a letter signed by the then Minister of Gender and Social Protection, Sarah Adwoa Safo.

However, she was later reinstated following a directive by President Akufo-Addo.

She was also an entrepreneur in the food and hospitality industries and a former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Ambar Quality Foods Limited.

She died at the age of 63.
