STATEMENT: Stakeholders in Savannah Region must call MP for Bole-Bamboi to order for backsliding and acerbic attitude towards peace in the region

Thursday 19th September, 2024.

Ladies and Gentlemen of the press, I highly welcome you to this all important Press Conference on the security of our dear Region and the Nation at large. Though the invite was prompt, you have responded with alacrity, Thank you.

It’s all but certain that the NDC’s politically sinked ship has developed into aquatic debris, rotten enough to feed their Presidential Candidate’s  “small fowls” no policy direction talk. No sane person worth his/her sort will take NDC serious for their war drumming agenda talk less of casting a valuable vote for them come December 2024 in the Savannah Region.

In the interest and respect for peaceful co-existence, the NPP remained practically peaceful despite the many provocative tendencies of the NDC in the region. A typical example is the greedy, selfish and self-serving incompetent MP for Bole-Bamboi Constituency who has insulted and dragged every stakeholder into the gutters for no wrong doing. His desperation for recognition from a Presidential Candidate who cannot win the upcoming elections in Ghana is not only irresponsible but shows how poor a representative He is in the house of Parliament.

In a viral audio, the Bole Bamboi MP, Hon. Yussif Sulemana Ore is heard chanting war songs and pontificating violence in this country. This is the same man who instigated some ndc Youth to stage a hoot at H.E Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia when He visited the Jakpa Palace in March last year. This choreographed blunder back-fired and rather hit Mr. Mahama on his home soil. As if that was not enough, this same incompetent MP, who virtually has no better achievement to himself in the Bole-Bamboi Constituency for his many years in Parliament was the one that threatened and swore to stop any development that was coming to the Constituency, unless same is coming from Mr. Mahama. Such backward thinking goons have no place in our current Legislature. The very reason He must be replaced by a young, green, energetic Raphael Kumah Abolasom, who comes on with fresh and pragmatic ideas.

We have heard enough, read enough and threatened enough by the NDC with violence and hostility in a region they have failed to deliver even with a Gonja kinsman as the number one Gentleman of the land. The NPP courted for a region for Gonjaland, got married to it and gave birth to a bouncing Savannah Region baby which produced Regional Executives and other political recognitions to the NDC; a sharp contrast from the beatings they use to receive in the then Northern Region from fellow NDC executives.

Hon. Yussif Ore must be told, that every single Gonjalander is a son/daughter or grand child of Ndewura Jakpa; Mr. Mahama has no special immunity than any other Gonjalander in the face of what it means to be a Gonjalander. In any case, Ndewura Jakpa will rather curse Mr. Mahama for betraying his legacy. If there was any iota of “Jakpanism” in Mr. Mahama as put out by the incompetent MP, He would  have taken us serious by delivering a Region and the many developmental challenges and human resource constrain the Land faced.

What did Gonjaland not do for He Hon. Yussif Ore and Mr. Mahama? Is it the 7/7 MPs in 2012 we did not do or contributing maximum votes in the Region to late Attah Mills to make him a Vice President?

While we are ready as a Political Party in the Region for their shenanigans and dilly-dally war mongering agenda; we are calling on the Ghana Police Service, Traditional Paramouncies, the JAKPA Palace, Clergy, Imams, CSOs, the Youth and the General Public to call the Hon. Yussif Ore and NDC to order before we take the fight to them in the protection of votes cast for Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia and all seven NPP Parliamentary Candidates in the Region come December, 2024. The NPP’s respect and commitment to peace must not be misconstrued as cowardice or a lack of will power to act equally.

We believe in the eye catching and visible achievements of the Nana/Bawumia Government in the areas of roads, bridges, jobs, decentralization, water facilities and social interventionist programs in the Savannah Region. That is why we speak to issues of bread and butter, just like our leader Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia who elaborates on programs and policies to be implemented in his newly formed government come January, 2025 by the will of Almighty Allah and the support of the Ghanaian people. We don’t go about insulting pastors, Chiefs and Imams; we don’t propose lazy and non existing policies like 24/7 disco dance night club policies; we don’t propose pay loaders to carry DRIP machines; we have created a beautiful story for our people and we’re poised in selling it to the people.

Let it be concluded, that the Prof. Kalimonia led NPP in the Savannah Region has served enough notice in this very press conference and previous press statements. We shall not allow the peace of this Region be jeopardized by desperate politicians who wish to have power by all means.

God Bless us and bless our homeland Ghana.

Mohammed Issah
Savannah Regional Secretary, NPP
