In accordance with the Presidential (Transition) Act, 2012 (Act 845), all members of statutory boards, corporations, commissions, and councils appointed by the former President or a former Minister of State have officially ceased to hold office as of January 7, 2025.

This following the assumption of office by His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama.

A formal notice issued by the Presidency on Monday, January 13, 2025, and signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Acting Spokesperson for the President, informed the affected members of their cessation of office.

The notice clarified that commissions that are independent constitutional creations are exempt from this directive.

The statement further noted that, “in due course, the affected boards, commissions, councils, and statutory corporations will be reconstituted according to their respective enabling laws.”

In addition, the President expressed his appreciation to the outgoing members for their service and extended best wishes for their future endeavours.

The notice also instructed the management of these bodies to seek clearance from the Chief of Staff before taking any significant actions, pending further notice.
