The University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) has honoured the exceptional contributions of Mr. Prince Amoatia Younge and the 1998 Year Group of its alumni as part of the 45th Management Week celebrations.
The event culminated in a special recognition ceremony on Wednesday, 16th July to celebrate individuals and groups who have significantly supported the school’s growth and development.
This year’s edition of Management Week, a flagship event that convenes stakeholders from academia, business, and the public sector, placed a spotlight on distinguished alumni whose efforts have advanced UGBS’s mission and long-term objectives.
Among those honoured was Mr. Prince Amoatia Younge, who received acclaim for his consistent service to the school over more than a decade, particularly through his vital role on the Board of Trustees of the UGBS Endowment Fund.

“Your dedication and support to UGBS has been truly exceptional,” read the official citation signed by the Dean of the School, Prof. Justice Bawole. Mr. Younge, who has served on the Endowment Fund Board since its inception in 2011, was commended for funding the setup of the Graduway Alumni Software and donating a vehicle to the Alumni Relations Office—the first vehicle donation in the school’s history.
The UGBS Alumni Association’s 1998 Year Group was also recognised for its substantial contributions to the 45th Management Week and broader school development efforts. Their support included sponsoring the Mentorship Breakfast and installing 48 CCTV cameras to improve security across campus facilities. The group also honoured faculty members from their cohort, demonstrating their commitment to both safety and academic heritage.

“The School Management, Faculty, and Staff recognise your outstanding support and dedication to the progress and welfare of the School,” the citation to the 1998 group stated.
Prof. Bawole commended both recipients for setting an exemplary standard of alumni involvement and encouraged others within the alumni community to follow their lead.
Present at the ceremony was the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Prof. Nana Aba Appiah-Amfo.
