A renowned private legal practitioner and partner at Akufo-Addo, Prempeh & Co., Anthony Akoto Ampaw has reportedly died.
Although official sources have yet to confirm his demise, some individuals have taken to social media to announce his death.
Mr. Akoto Ampaw is prominently known for his role in the 2013 presidential election petition, where he was a member of the legal team for then-candidate Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
He was also the lead counsel for President Akufo-Addo in the 2020 presidential election petition.
He was also noted for his human and civil rights activism and campaign against corruption.
Mr. Ampaw most recently defended FixTheCountry convener Oliver Barker-Vormawor in a treason charge brought against him by the state.
He was 55 years old.
