The police have urged the public to assist with information that will lead to the arrest of the persons involved in the serial killing in Wa, in the Upper West Region, announcing a reward package of GHC 100,000 to informants.

“We continue to urge anyone with credible information that will lead to the arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators to come forward and share it with the police.”

“In line with this, a reward of GHC100,000 has been set aside for anyone who provides information in that regard,” the communication added.

The police disclosed that the person arrested so far, Kankani Adongo, remains in custody and is assisting them with investigations.

The youth in the township have been protesting the several killings that have so far taken the lives of 10 private security men, the most recent one being Seidu Baga, whose body was discovered in a shallow grave at Bamahu, a suburb of Wa.

Ambrose Dery, the Minister for the Interior, also a native of the region, told journalists that he had had fruitful meetings with the Regional Security Council (REGSEC) and assured them of the ability of the police to control the situation while bringing the perpetrators to book.

The IGP, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, and other senior police officials have been in the region since Monday to familiarise themselves with the situation on the ground, including visiting the Overlord of the Wa Traditional Area, Wa Naa Seidu Fuseini Pelpuo IV.
