We Are Focused On Performing Our Constitutional Mandate – Police Responds To Critics On Nkoranza Issues

Following a slew of criticisms of the police’s handling of the Nkoranza riots, the service has called the public’s bluff.

The service had earlier been faulted by many people for not training its officers in controlling riots, citing the recent Ejura killings.

However, in a release on Sunday, the police admonished people pursuing their own agendas on the ongoing issues to desist from doing so because they are focused on delivering on their mandate – which is protecting lives and property.

“We would like to caution those who are capitalizing on the crisis for their own interests to desist from it since that will not deter us from executing our constitutional mandate,” the statement said.

They had earlier expressed satisfaction with the work of their men who were on the ground during the incidents.

They assured the public of pursuing the case to the end till “justice is served to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.”
