The campaign team of the NPP’s Alan Kyerematen is reviewing the results of the special electoral college elections held last Saturday ahead of a public broadcast.

Mr. Kyerematen placed third in the elections with 95 votes out of the 923 valid votes cast.

Although this is a first-level poll, many have been surprised by the performance of the former Trade Minister against the backdrop of predictions prior to the election.

However, in a statement on Monday, Alan Kyerematen noted that “the A4P Campaign Coordination Team is currently analysing the results of the Special Electoral College Election, and in the course of this week I will deliver a public broadcast on the way forward for my campaign”.

“I wish to assure my teeming supporters, particularly those at the grassroot level, that the battle is still the Lord’s and that those that wait on the Lord shall have their strength renewed,” Mr. Kyerematen added.

He also expressed regret about the “brutal assault” on his polling agent in the North East Region, who had reportedly challenged a delegate who revealed the candidate they voted for to others at the center.

Mr. Kyerematen observed, “This is an indelible blot on the internal democratic process within the NPP.”

But, speaking to the press on Saturday, Director of Elections and Research of the NPP, Evans Nimako, argued that the party has yet to receive an official complaint from Kyerematen’s campaign team.

In a related event, a leading member of Alan Kyerematen’s campaign, Hopeson Yaovi Adorye, is set to face the NPP’s Disciplinary Committee for accusing the Chief of Staff, Hon. Frema Akosua Osei-Opare, of fronting the payment of bribes to delegates in order to secure the vice presidential slot under Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia.
