Circulating appointment lists are fake – Mahama’s office

The Office of President-elect John Dramani Mahama has refuted claims about purported appointment lists circulating on social media, labelling them as false and unauthorised.

In a statement released on Monday, December 16, 2024, Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Special Aide to the President-elect, dismissed the lists, emphasizing that they do not reflect official communications from the President-elect’s team.

“The Office of the President-Elect wishes to categorically state that lists circulating on social media purported to be appointments and nominations made by HE John Dramani Mahama are false and unauthorised,” the statement read.

The office called on the public to exercise caution and avoid sharing unverified information. “We urge all to refrain from spreading unverified information and to rely on official communications from our office,” the statement added.

Mr. Mahama is currently collaborating with the outgoing NPP administration on transition processes as he prepares for his formal swearing-in as President on January 7, 2025.
