A deputy Finance Minister and Member of Parliament for Ejisu in the Ashanti Region, John Ampontuah Kumah, has died.
The news of his shocking death was broken on Thursday by family sources to the press.
Dr. Kumah, 45, who has been out of the public space for some time, has reportedly been sick since last year.
John Kumah, who was also a lawyer and entrepreneur by profession, founded Aduaprokye Chambers, a law firm, and Majak Associates Ltd., a building and construction company.
Before being appointed by President Akufo-Addo as a deputy finance minister, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP).
Kumah was also an integral part of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) negotiations, together with former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta, after initially discounting plans to seek bailouts from the Fund.
He was married to Lilian Kumah, a Minister of the Gospel, and they were blessed with six (6) children.
