Maxwell Kofi Jumah, former Managing Director of GIHOC Distilleries Company Limited, has been arrested by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) over suspected financial irregularities.
Multiple local media reports indicate he was picked up on April 28, 2026, and is currently in EOCO custody.
His arrest follows a raid on his private residence in Kumasi last week, although details of what was retrieved remain unclear.
According to sources familiar with the investigation, the probe is focused on possible breaches of public financial management protocols during his tenure at GIHOC. Investigators are seeking to determine how certain official resources were managed under his leadership.
