The Ghana Education Service (GES) has reaffirmed that the reopening dates for the 2024/25 academic year remain unchanged.

In a statement released on January 2, 2025, the GES reminded students, staff, parents, and the general public that Senior High School (SHS) students are expected to return to school on January 3, 2025, while primary and junior high schools will resume on January 8, 2025.

“The 2024/25 academic calendar has not changed,” the statement signed by Cassandra Twum Ampofo, Head of the Public Relations Unit, emphasised.

The GES also acknowledged ongoing discussions with the Ministry of Education regarding concerns raised by the leadership of the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS).

“Management of GES is engaging the Ministry for a speedy resolution of concerns raised by the leadership of CHASS,” the release noted.

The GES urged all stakeholders to take note of the confirmed dates and make necessary arrangements.
