Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has taken a swipe at the NDC for constantly exhibiting a negative attitude about the transformations the government is implementing in the country.

Addressing party members at the NPP Women’s Conference in the United Kingdom, Dr. Bawumia admonished members of his party to stay focused and not be distracted by the attacks and ignorance being displayed by their main political opponent.

“We are dealing politically with people with shackled mindsets who always think in terms of things being impossible to do. When you try to move the country forward with new ideas, they mask their ignorance by mocking you, ridiculing you, and calling you a liar. But in the process, they only expose their lack of understanding of the issues. My response to them is to stay focused,” Dr. Bawumia said.

He noted that the major achievements of the government, such as the digitization of the economy and the Free Senior High School Policy, all favored women in the country.

Touting the achievements of the government in the area of digitalization, including mobile money interoperability, Tax Identification Number (TIN) linkages with the Ghana Card, paperless ports, no-guarantor student loans, the Universal QR Code Payment System, digital registration and renewal of NHIS membership, and digitalization of ECG operations, the Vice President expressed confidence in the ability of the government to do many more things for the Ghanaian people if given the opportunity.

He stated: “What we have been able to accomplish so far shows that it is possible for Ghana to achieve many things that some believe to be impossible. With what we have done and will continue doing in the wake of the global challenges, the outcome, thus far, points to an auspicious future.”
