Following news of an alleged theft by househelps of the Sanitation and Water Resources Minister, Ghanaians have taken to social media to express their views.
While some were interested to know why the Minister would keep such expensive valuables in her home, others called for investigations by the authorities into her financial dealings.
Adding his voice to the matter, former President John Mahama believed public office holders in President Akufo-Addo’s administration have not set good examples so far.
“$1m + €300k and millions of GHS in a Ghanaian Minister’s home? … Scandalous!! Even if genuinely acquired, why keep millions of hard currency at home?
Will @NAkufoAddo ever set a good example for public office holders in his administration?”
